Are you open to the public?

 Absolutely!

What are your operating hours?

Tuesday through Friday 9:00-4:00 and Saturday 9:00-2:00. We are closed Sunday and Monday.

Are you a “regular” nursery?

Yes and No.

Like many nurseries, we offer containerized plants and trees in a variety of shapes and sizes. We have over 25,000 plants on our five acre property. We are open to the public and offer very competitive prices.

Unlike the Home Centers (Home Depot, Lowe’s etc.), everything is locally grown (outdoors not in green houses!) and especially suited for the Temecula Valley climate. We have highly knowledgeable sales persons who can help you select the perfect plants that suit your needs.

Unlike anyone else, we often use golf carts to get our customers around the beautiful naturally wooded property; however, many of our customers love to walk through our unique grounds.

Where are you located?

We are located in the De Luz area of Temecula. We are off of the 15 Freeway heading away from Wine Country. It is less than 6 miles from the freeway to our door. The drive is just beautiful! When you arrive, you will see the front of our family’s home. Follow the signs to the office and we’ll show you around!

Directions are as follows:

Interstate 15 to Rancho California

Go West approx. 2 miles to Del Oro and make left.

(You will be heading AWAY from Wine Country)

Go 2/10 mile to Sandia Creek, make left.

Go 2.4 miles to Via Vaquero (at stop sign) make left.

Go 2/10 mile to Escondido, make right.

*This is the turn everyone misses. It is your first right and comes just after the house with the large white wall and Palm Trees*

Go 2/10 mile to Lorenz, make left.

Single lane road goes into Adler Lane.

Park at the top of the road and walk down the driveway. There are signs that lead you to our office.

How long have you been open?

We have been serving the Temecula Valley for seven years.

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover for all purchases, including landscape installations. We also accept cash and checks.

What types of plants do you sell?

We sell both common and unique plants. We have perennial flowers (flowers that don’t have to be replanted every year), shrubs, hedges, roses, flowering and shade trees, vines, ornamental grasses, fruit trees, and more.

At this time, we do not carry annual flowers, vegetable plants, wine grapes, or seeds.

Do you sell bare root?

We receive our new bare root plants from the end of December to the beginning of January. We plant the stock right away so unless something is reserved in advanced, we only sell containerized plants.

Do you sell roses?

We sell hundreds of beautiful roses each year.  We offer all varieties of roses from ground cover to hybrid tea and floribunda, climbers, and more. We carefully select our rose offerings for color, disease resistance, fragrance, growth habit, and suitability to our climate. Special emphasis is placed on roses that have won the AARS awards. All of our roses are grade #1, the highest grade of roses available today.

They are sold in 5 gallon containers and range in price from $14.99 to $21.99 based on the variety. We also offer rose trees in 15 gallon containers and range in price from $39.99 to $74.99 based on the variety.

Do you sell fruit trees?

We have a large variety of fruit trees and shrubs.

We carry many citrus trees – oranges, lemons, limes, grapefruits, etc. We also have apples, apricots, nectarines, pears, peaches, plums, pomegranates, and more. In shrub form, we have blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, and grapes vines.

We carry varieties of the above that are well suited to our climate (often more than one variety of each fruit). Every fruit tree has a number of chill hours required to bear fruit. We carry the trees that will fruit best given the limited chill hours we receive each year.

Do you carry water wise plants?

We offer a large variety of water wise plants. Given our recent drought conditions, we know that customers are particularly conscious of the amount of water that is being used. However, we also understand that people do not want to sacrifice color and beauty. We try to balance both of those goals with the plants that we carry.

Check out the Succulents and Low Water Plants section of our website for examples.

Do you have sod?

We install thousands of square feet of sod for our customers every year. However, we do not keep sod on site for pick up. If you are interested in having sod delivered to your home to install yourself, please call the office for pricing information.

Do you have planter boxes? Pottery?

We have Redwood planter boxes for sale. They are two feet long by four feet wide. They stand one foot tall. Redwood is the recommended material for long lasting planter boxes that will not contaminate the food growing inside of them.

We also offer decorative pottery. We have Italian terra cotta pots and colorful glazed pottery. If you select a pot and a plant that you like, we will pot it for you free of charge!

How do you know when plants flower? Lose their leaves? Change color? Etc?

Since November of 2008, we have kept an extensive log monitoring the exact weeks that each one of our plants blooms. We have also tracked leaf loss, new growth, color change, fruit bearing, and other significant factors. This log has allowed us to offer our customers live and accurate information about plant seasons here in the Temecula Valley not just generic textbook information.

Do you have gift certificates?

Yes. We often provide gift certificates for both local and out of town gift givers. All denominations are available. Gift certificates make great birthday, anniversary, and memorial gifts.

Are you a full service landscaping company? What is your license number?

In addition to being a full service plant nursery, we are a complete landscape construction company as well. See the Landscape Construction portion of our website for a list of services that we offer and to

see numerous projects in our portfolio. Our license number is 864648.

Do you sell wholesale?

We do offer wholesale pricing for landscapers and other nurseries. Discounts are not available on all plants and are at the discretion of the staff. Please contact us for more information, we’d be happy to help!

Do you have a newsletter with plant care information?

We have a monthly newsletter with relevant local plant care information that is customized monthly and emailed to interested customers. Please email John@Mccabesnursery.com if you are interested in being added to our mailing list.
