In the springtime,

umbels of apricot-orange, creamy

yellow, and fiery

carmine funnel-shaped flowers shoot up from thick, strap like, dark-green leaves.  On stocky stems, these brilliant yellow-throated flower clusters emerge from large berrylike fruits that form, ripen and turn red or yellow.  They grow well in frost-free climates and tolerate heat if planted in the shade.
