This plant is one of the most primitive living plants in existence today. It has a rugged trunk topped with whorled feathery leaves. Although its common name is “palm” it is actually a conifer tree. It has an upright trunk with a diameter from 1-12” depending on age. The stiff leaves grow in a circular pattern. New leaves emerge all at once and are very tender until they begin to harden. It has attractive orange fruits in feathery husks. Zones 8-11 |
