Handsome, erect tree grows slowly to 30-50 feet high, 15-20 feet wide. Bears masses of drooping shiny green leaves, pointed at both ends. In time the trunk can grow quite large, becoming fluted and spirally twisted with age. It is an evergreen tree with a dark grey to pale grey-brown bark. Grows well in most soils. Likes sun or partial shade. Not very drought tolerant. Zones 8-9 |
